MUSIC

People regularly ask what kind of music I play. I guess that the best answer is that it's an eclectic mix - which of course doesn't answer the question at all. Mainly these days I play original interpretations of traditional and other music in a (more or less) country/blues fingerstyle method.

HISTORY

I started playing guitar in the 9th grade during a class offered at school. Since then I worked at learning the music of guitarists such as Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis, Richard Ruskin, Leo Kottke, Marcel Dadi, and Chet Atkins (among others). After a couple of years studying classical guitar as a music major, I decided to persue a career working with computer application development.

RECORDING

Some years back I installed a sample music recording application from Cakewalk which allowed recording two tracks. Intrigued by the possibilities, I purchased a more complete version of the software - however at that point we moved from Dexter to Holland and the software went into a box. This box was reopened during the fall of 2004 and I spent some time playing with recording. These original recordings were made with an extremely limited microphone, but were enjoyable to make and some are available on this web site. Hopefully in the future I can make some additional recordings with better equipment.
